If Life is Like a Book

Chapter One

I deserve to be raped.
Feel better when I escape

I wear so many masks that I
Completely lose myself

I do whatever I can to aid
Other people’s wealth

Chapter Two

I realize these feelings aren’t my own
A connection to something has grown

Seeking help gives me the courage to heal
I learn to love myself and how I feel

Pain guilt anger loss quiet sadness loneliness distress detachment hatred rejection disconnect

Realize I have been living a lie
At some times so low I just want to die

Chapter Three

I learn to forgive my mistakes
So what if I eat too many cakes?

I suddenly see the other person is me
Truly believe all I want is to be free

(“enlightenment begins the other side of despair” – John Paul Sartre)

The last thing anyone deserves is rape
I can handle life without an escape

I listen to what my heart is craving
And finally accept I am worth saving.
