Survivors' stories

We have dedicated this area to the personal experiences of women who have accessed support from us. To enable them to tell their stories and break the silence that too often surrounds sexual violence. Their testimonies highlight their courage and strength, and show how survival and healing is possible, even against all odds.

Survivors’ stories can often be an inspiration to other survivors, and can help them to realise they are not alone. We invite survivors to share their stories on these pages, either anonymously or named. If you would like to add your story please speak to your EWRASAC support worker or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your story and giving permission for us to publish it on our website.

Keeping yourself safe

Please note that reading some of the material on these pages may be upsetting. If you are a survivor they may bring back painful memories or feelings and you may want to read them in a safe place or speak to someone. You can call our helpline on 0131 556 9437. Be cautious and take care of yourself.
