SupportIf you are supporting a survivor of sexual violence you may feel upset or shocked by what you are told. These feelings are understandable but may add to her distress as she may feel responsible for upsetting you. It is important to remember that while you are hearing about her experiences, she has lived through them and survived. You may need support for yourself to cope with or understand what you are hearing, and you can call us on 0131 556 9437. We do not need to know the name of the woman you are supporting, but can support you with the issues that are being raised for you. We offer free and confidential information, advice and support to workers supporting survivors of sexual violence. This is through our helpline as well as face-to-face appointments.
