ELSAS offers support in East Lothian to women, girls aged 12 and over, and all members of the transgender community who are currently experiencing or have experienced sexual abuse. You can contact ELSAS on 07800 604 164 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . When you contact us, we will offer you a face-to-face session with a support worker if you want this. You can use this time in any way you choose, and we can talk through what support we can offer, including long-term and advocacy support. We are based around East Lothian and we will try and offer you support where you feel most comfortable. We can also arrange to visit you at home or help financially if you have difficulties with mobility, travel or transport costs. ELSAS works together with EWRASAC to offer support to family, friends and partners who are supporting survivors. EWRASAC also offers a helpline, group support, advocacy and complementary therapies to survivors. Reporting to the police If you are unsure whether you want to report to the police, you may consider ‘remote reporting’ through ELSAS. This means that you can report the crime in confidence to us, and we will then contact the police on your behalf. If you wish to remain anonymous then the information will be added to the police intelligence database and no further action will be taken. Whatever your decision about reporting, ELSAS will support you. Referrals from workers who are supporting survivorsELSAS accepts referrals from other agencies that are supporting female survivors from East Lothian. If you are a worker and wish to make a referral, we will ask you for the woman's name and contact details. We will also need you to tell us if we can leave a message on her phone and say who we are when we contact her. This is to protect her safety and confidentiality. We do not need any other information and we will work with the woman with the issues she brings to us.
